WAHO and The World Bank hold their 4th Annual Review Meeting of World Bank-funded Projects at WAHO
The fourth annual meeting to review the WAHO portfolio of World Bank-funded projects, organized by the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and the World Bank (WB) was held in Dakar, Senegal, from March 9-11, 2020.
The meeting is to review the World Bank-funded projects portfolio being implemented at WAHO.
Specifically, the meeting was to:
- Evaluate the progress made in the implementation of each of the projects;
- Identify systemic bottlenecks at all levels (Planning, Coordination, Monitoring & Evaluation, Procurement, Financial Management and Communication);
- Make practical recommendations to strengthen the implementation of the planned activities; and
- Develop a roadmap for the implementation of the recommendations made.
The meeting had a brief Opening Ceremony and several Technical Sessions where ten (10) Presentations were made by the Projects Coordinators or their representatives and Project Management Unit Specialists (Procurement, Communication, Finance, Environmental and Social Safeguards, Monitoring and Evaluation). Each presentation was followed by questions and answers sessions, deliberations and discussions during which recommendations were made and possible solutions proffered.
