The Director General of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) On A Working Visit in Guinea
The Director General of the West African Health Organization (WAHO), Professor Stanley Okolo on Thursday 6 June 2019, paid a working visit to Guinea.
Upon arrival in Conakry, the Capital City of Guinea, the DG paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Health, Dr. Edouard Niankoye Lamah where they discussed among other things WAHO’s support to Guinea.
The meeting was later extended to include technical officers where they discussed (1) the progress of the REDISSE project; (2) the progress of the RIPOST project; (3) the state of the Medicines Regulatory Harmonization program; and (4) the DESSO project.
The meeting also highlighted the success of the health system in Conakry in combating the Ebola virus disease and how to use this success as a gateway for other countries in the region.
The DG later met with the staff of the Emergency Operations Center in Conakry.
