WAHO and USAID/WA Review the CAPS Project
Ouagadougou, 18 September 2019 – From 16 - 17 September 2019, a WAHO team led by the Director of Healthcare Services Dr Kofi Busia, met with a USAID/WA Regional Health Office delegation led by its Snr. Communications, M&E Advisor, Sheila Mensah, at the Hotel Laico in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The purpose of the meeting was to: i) to review the USAID-funded Leadership Capacity Strengthening (CAPS) project ii) Discuss the 2018 audit report as well as the level of implementation of its recommendations; iii) Discuss the status of the proposed no-cost extension of the WAHO-CAPS activity and finally iv) Introduce the concept for a co-creation design workshop for the next direct support to WAHO.
This meeting was an opportunity for WAHO and USAID to work together to develop strategies for address the main challenges that the project has encountered so far, with a view to ensuring effective implementation on the proposed One Health project.
At the end of the meeting, Dr Kofi Busia who represented the Director General of WAHO Prof Stanley Okolo, thanked the USAID team for their continued support and commitment to WAHO and its interventions.
