WEST AFRICAN HEALTH PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES ON COURTESY VISIT at WAHO
Bobo-Dioulasso, 21 March 2019 – Representatives of West African Colleges paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) at the institution’s Headquarters in Bobo-Dioulasso. The aim of the visit was to strengthen collaboration and improved on the existing working relationship between WAHO and the Colleges.
The colleges were represented by the West African College of Surgeons (WACS); the West African College of Physicians (WACP); and the coordinating unit for the postgraduate colleges, the West African Postgraduate Medical Colleges (WAPMC).
Welcoming the colleges, the Director General of WAHO, Prof Stanley Okolo expressed his appreciation to the team for the visit. He went on to assure the colleges of WAHO’s readiness to partner with all the colleges to ensure that the ultimate of goal of providing quality health to the West African people is met through the provision of quality human resources for health.
In response, the Colleges said they are aligned with the vision and mission of WAHO and they believe that strong collaboration between the colleges and WAHO can lead to health development in West Africa. They expressed their gratitude to WAHO for all the support over the years.
There are five colleges; the remaining three are:
- The West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (WAPCP)
- The West African College of Nursing (WACN)
- The West African Postgraduate College of Environmental Health (WAPCEH)
