From 31 July to 6 August 2017, the consultant, Dr John OJO, contracted by USAID, undertook a working visit to WAHO with the Programme Officers involved in the implementation of the CAPS project activities. The objective of this mission was to share knowledge on the application and enable a better utilisation of the dashboard for financial and performance monitoring and implementation of on-going programmes.

Before the debriefing session, the consultant received the observations of the Programme Officers of the project regarding the understanding, utilisation and updating of the indicators, the submission of activity reports, not forgetting the monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the various programmes implemented under the project.

During the debriefing session chaired by the CAPS project Internal Coordinator, Dr Kofi BUSIA, the consultants provided the necessary explanations with regard to ownership of the application by programme officers. The working session also revealed that the application developed and submitted by the consultant constitutes a complete tool containing all the information on the implementation of the programmes under the project. This information will be accessible to the various programme officers but will remain exclusive in terms of manipulation of the content, which will be under the responsibility of the Assistant in charge of monitoring and evaluation, Ms Tosin ADESINA, for reasons of data safety.

Besides the user manual, which was provided, some details were also provided on the means to reduce, if not avoid, bottlenecks that may occur.

It is worth noting that the concept of the monitoring tool, called dashboard, was launched right from the beginning of CAPS project, which is currently in its third year of implementation. The presence of Dr John OJO enabled the actual transfer of skills to the CAPS project team.
