Burkina Faso First Research Days in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child and Adolescent Health/Family Planning
Ouagadougou, 18 September 2019 – The Ministry of Health of Burkina Faso is organizing from 18 to 20 September 2019, the "First Research Days in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child and Adolescent Health/Family Planning ".
These days are organized in collaboration with the West African Health Organization (WAHO) with the support of the "Moving Maternal, Newborn and Child Evidence into Policy in West Africa (MEP)" project funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada, and the "Demography and Sexual and Reproductive Health (DEMSAN)" project funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
These first days are placed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health and the opening ceremony was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health representing the Minister of Health.
The set objectives are:
- Share innovative research data in MNCH/FP with stakeholders;
- Initiate a dialogue on the use of research data to improve maternal and child health and the adoption of family planning; and
- Build stakeholder capacity for the use of evidence in decision-making and practice in MNCH/FP in Burkina Faso.
